Fast Channel Shortening with Polynomial Weighting Functions
نویسنده
چکیده
Channel shortening is often necessary for demodulation of multicarrier signals and complexity reduction of maximum likelihood sequence estimation (MLSE). This paper has two parts: (i) the proposal of complexity-reduction techniques for channel shortening designs with polynomial weighting functions, including the minimum inter-block interference (Min-IBI) and minimum delay spread (MDS) designs, and (ii) the evaluation of several standard channel shorteners, including Min-IBI and MDS, in terms of bit error rate (BER) for an OFDM system. Previous evaluation of channel shortening designs has focused on the wireline case, for which the performance metric (bit rate for fixed BER) is quite different.

On the Connection Between the Correction and Weighting Functions in the Correction Procedure via Reconstruction Method
In this note, the connection between the correction and weighting functions for the correction procedure via reconstruction (CPR) method in 1D is addressed. A one-parameter family of weighting functions is constructed from the discontinuous test space. It is found that if the solution polynomials lie in the space P k , then the first k weighting functions can always be chosen as the basis of th...

We consider the coupled system$F(x,y)=G(x,y)=0$,where$$F(x, y)=bs 0 {m_1} A_k(y)x^{m_1-k}mbox{ and } G(x, y)=bs 0 {m_2} B_k(y)x^{m_2-k}$$with entire functions $A_k(y), B_k(y)$.We derive a priory estimates for the sums of the rootsof the considered system andfor the counting function of roots.
متن کاملAnisotropic Kuwahara Filtering with Polynomial Weighting Functions
In this work we present new weighting functions for the anisotropic Kuwahara filter. The anisotropic Kuwahara filter is an edge-preserving filter that is especially useful for creating stylized abstractions from images or videos. It is based on a generalization of the Kuwahara filter that is adapted to the local shape of features. For the smoothing process, the anisotropic Kuwahara filter uses ...
متن کاملAssessment of Weighting Functions Used in Oppermann Codes in Polyphase Pulse Compression Radars
Polyphase is a common class of pulse compression waveforms in the radar systems. Oppermann code is one of the used codes with polyphone pattern. After compression, this code has little tolerant against Doppler shift in addition to its high side lobe level. This indicates that the use of Oppermann code is an unsuitable scheme to radars applications. This paper shows that the use of amplitude wei...
متن کاملgH-differentiable of the 2th-order functions interpolating
Fuzzy Hermite interpolation of 5th degree generalizes Lagrange interpolation by fitting a polynomial to a function f that not only interpolates f at each knot but also interpolates two number of consecutive Generalized Hukuhara derivatives of f at each knot. The provided solution for the 5th degree fuzzy Hermite interpolation problem in this paper is based on cardinal basis functions linear com...
